Nature as an Ally in Tackling Climate Change
Currently, nature on land and in the oceans compensates for roughly half of human CO₂ emissions. Without this free "service," climate warming would therefore progress twice as fast. How is it that our forests and similar ecosystems have started absorbing extra CO₂, and can we continue to rely on this in the future?
