Special and/or sensitive personal data we process
Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors under the age of 16, unless they have permission from a parent or guardian. We cannot, however, verify whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children's online activities, in order to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without that consent, please contact us at Pas-sg@maastrichtuniversity.nl and we will delete this information.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions based on automated processing about matters that could have (significant) consequences for individuals. These are decisions made by computer programs or systems without human involvement (for example, an employee of ours).
How long we retain personal data
Data entered into forms on this website is retained for reference and administrative purposes, but no longer than is strictly necessary to meet legal and administrative obligations.
Sharing personal data with third parties
We only share data with third parties when this is necessary to perform our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.
Cookies and local storage
We use only functional cookies and privacy-friendly, anonymous statistics. We do not place any tracking or marketing cookies.
Functional cookie
NEXT_LOCALE— remembers your language choice (Dutch or English). Retention: 1 year.
Local storage on your device
The following data stays solely on your own device and is never sent to our servers:
- My PAS — the programme items you select and save. No account is needed; the selection exists only on this device.
- Accessibility preferences — such as font size, contrast and zoom level.
You can delete this data at any time by clearing the stored browser data for this website.
Anonymous statistics (cookieless)
To improve our website we measure, in anonymised form, how the site is used, such as pages viewed and buttons clicked. This is done without cookies. We do not store your IP address, name or any other directly identifying data: your IP address is truncated and irreversibly hashed together with a daily-rotating key, solely to avoid counting the same visit twice. This data cannot be traced back to you, is not shared with third parties, and after 90 days is kept only in aggregated form.
Accessing, correcting or deleting data
We only keep the account details of this website's administrators. You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw any consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by us, and the right to data portability. This means you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we hold about you to you or to another organisation you name, in a computer file.
You can send a request for access, correction, deletion or transfer of your personal data, or a request to withdraw your consent or to object to the processing, to Pas-sg@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
To make sure the request was made by you, we ask you to include a copy of your identity document with the request. In this copy, black out your passport photo, the MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), the passport number and your citizen service number (BSN). This protects your privacy. We will respond as quickly as possible, and within four weeks, to your request.
We would also like to point out that you have the right to lodge a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), via: https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/nl/contact-met-de-autoriteit-persoonsgegevens/tip-ons
How we protect personal data
We take the protection of your data seriously and take appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification. If you feel that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of misuse, please contact us at Pas-sg@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
