Marike Jager
Marike Jager is one of the Netherlands’ most beloved singer-songwriters and stands out with playful and melodic finds. She is inspired by The Beatles, Fiona Apple and Tim Burton and writes her songs on guitar, piano and a handmade music box. A weaver of stories, she effortlessly draws in her audience.
Marike once made her debut at Maastricht’s open stage as a student. Since then she has been nominated for multiple Edison Awards and worked with Grammy winner Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Sheryl Crow) on several of her records. She also collaborated with hip-hop dancer Shailesh Bahoran for Nederlandse Dansdagen and wrote a mesmerizing duet with Canadian songwriter Ron Sexsmith.
