Health Promotion and Healthy Food Choices
Every day, children make choices about what they eat, how much they move and how they spend their time at school. But how much of this is really a choice? The school environment can play an important role in making healthy behaviour the natural choice. Drawing on research from the Healthy Primary School of the Future and the Green Healthy Primary School of the Future, this presentation explores how structural changes, from healthy school lunches and physical activity to greener schoolyards, can support children’s health, wellbeing, and learning. What happens when, instead of trying to change children, we change the environment around them?
