The Maastricht University Orchestra was founded in 1978 and has since grown into an international symphony orchestra consisting of students, university staff, and other music enthusiasts. Since 2005, the orchestra has been conducted by Raymond Spons. Its repertoire is diverse, ranging from Baroque and Classical symphonic music to Romantic and contemporary works, with regular themed concerts and exciting collaborations. The orchestra brings together people of different ages, backgrounds, and nationalities, making it a truly diverse ensemble. As a result, our working languages are Dutch, English, and Limburgish.
